It is the constituent college of Sri Guru Ram Das University of Health Sciences, Sri Amritsar, Punjab named after the fourth Sikh Guru, “Sri Guru Ram Das” the founder of holy city of Amritsar.  The school of Nursing came into existence in 2001 with an intake of 50 students of GNM. Number of seats were increased to 60 and since then many batches have successfully completed their training.

The college of Nursing came into existence with an intake of 50 students of B. Sc Nursing and w.e.f 2008, the number of seats has been increased to 100. College of Nursing has also started Post Basic B. Sc Nursing Course with an intake of 40 seats in 2010 and from 2011 M. Sc Nursing was started with an intake of 20 seats (4 in each specialty-Medical Surgical Nursing, Child Health Nursing, Community Health Nursing, Mental Health Nursing and Obstetrics and Gynecological Nursing). The college is duly affiliated with Indian Nursing Council, New Delhi, Punjab Nurses Registration Council, Chandigarh and Baba Farid University of health Sciences, Faridkot and w.e.f. 2017 admission were made under Sri Guru Ram Das University of Health Sciences, Vallah, Amritsar. The university is recognized by the University Grants Commission (UGC) and approved by Govt. of india.

The Clinical teaching of Nursing Students is conducted at Sri Guru Ram Das Charitable Hospital, Vallah, 920 bedded. This institution is having its own Urban Health & Training Centre, Near Gurdwara Shaheedan Sahib and Rural Health & Training Centre, Mallu Nangal. The hospital is having all the latest equipments and facilities for training of Nursing Students.

The Institution has come up by dint of hard work and sincere efforts of management staff, employees and also the cooperation of students.
